Students who wish to take a limited number of courses for a
special purpose or who would like to try college before committing
to a degree program may apply as a special student. A special status
student may take up to five courses without having to provide
transcripts from high school or other colleges previously attended.
A special status student is not eligible for financial aid. All
courses taken as a special status student can be applied to an
Oglethorpe degree program.
In order to be admitted as a special student in the evening degree program, a student should:
Be at least 21 years of age.
Have graduated from an accredited high school.
Be eligible to return to any college or university he or she
has attended in the last two years.
Demonstrate English language proficiency if he or she is an
international student.
