Students who wish to take a limited number of courses for a
special purpose or who would like to try college before committing
to a degree program may apply as a special student. A special status
student may take up to five courses without having to provide
transcripts from high school or other colleges previously attended.
A special status student is not eligible for financial aid. All
courses taken as a special status student can be applied to an
Oglethorpe degree program.
In order to be admitted as a special student in the evening degree program, a student should:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have graduated from an accredited high school.
- Be eligible to return to any college or university he or she
has attended in the last two years.
- Demonstrate English language proficiency if he or she is an
international student.
