What: Oglethorpe Day, an annual campus celebration celebrating
the rich history and interesting traditions
of one of Atlanta’s oldest universities. This year's celebration is
a tribute to the integral role of the performing and fine arts
within the liberal arts curriculum at Oglethorpe University. The
students will be showcasing their artistic (musical, dramatic,
literary, and visual) talents during the convocation at Conant
Performing Arts Center.
When: 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11
Why: Oglethorpe University is steeped in English
traditions, beginning with its founding in 1835. Oglethorpe Day was
created for the campus community to heighten awareness and foster
appreciation for the school’s history and traditions. In recent
years, it has grown to become a neighborhood community celebration.
