Writing Center tutors are there to listen, suggest, diagnose, and advise. They serve as sounding boards, careful readers, and helpful critics, and are able to suggest possibilities implicit in a student's own thinking and writing.

Though the majors and other concentrations listed are the particular strengths of each individual, every tutor is capable of assisting with writing on any subject.
Interested in applying to tutor?
Applications are accepted in mid April from freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. The application consists of a form asking you to discuss your interest in tutoring and to describe relevant experiences with writing and responding to another’s work; a sample of your academic writing; and an agreement to release your transcript. Contact Dr. Jeanne McCarthy jmccarthy@oglethorpe.edu in March for the application form.
