Summa's TIME CAPSULE 1993-2003
The First School Time Capsule in South
America.
In 1993, Instituto SUMMA, an outstanding
school in Argentina, closed the First School
Time Capsule in South America, which will be
opened in October 2003. The Capsule stores
documents selected by its makers: letters,
souvenirs, photographs, videotapes and
recordings.
Our Time Capsule project was originally
thought of as a journey to the future so that,
ten years later, students, teachers and parents
would be able to meet again with what we once
were, with our memories, and with the stretch
travelled in a decade.
Today as in 1993, this event is related to a
wide pedagogical project that articulates the
passing of time, the importance of cultural
objects and the notion of historical event with
Instituto SUMMA’s distinctive thematic
axis: language and literature.
In order that this adventure of storing time
that started ten years ago should come up to
the expectations of both the former and the
present school communities, the promotion of
this event becomes essential.
For this reason, we are writing to you to
request your institutional sponsoring and to
report to all members of the Time Capsules
International Society about this historic
event.
The opening of Instituto SUMMA's Time
Capsule will take place on Friday, October
31st, 2003.
