To learn more about the process of becoming a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, please visit the CFP® website to view the Certification Requirements. After viewing the CFP® Certification Requirements, students will learn about the four components to CFP® Certification (known as the fours "Es"): Education, Examination, Experience, and Ethics.
After students apply for Oglethorpe University's Financial Planner Program, it is highly recommended that one create an online CFP Board account. Create Your Account. Creating an account will allow the CFP Board to provide students with the most current information about CFP® Certification. Students will receive updates on any changes to the requirements for CFP® certification. After establishing an account with CFP Board students are required to provide the Program Office with their CFP Board ID Number; this number will allow the Program Office to grant a student's eligibility to sit for the CFP Board exam after successful completion of the program.

These marks are awarded to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements. Oglethorpe University does not certify individuals to use the CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™ and certification marks. CFP® certification is granted only by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards to those persons who, in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this CFP Board Registered Program, have met its ethics, experience and examination requirements.
