Right of Privacy
In general, individual students accused of violations of
University policy have a right to privacy in disciplinary matters.
In compliance with The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of
1974 no personally identifiable information from a student's
educational records can be released without the signed and dated,
prior written consent of the parent or student. There are a number
of legal exceptions to this prior consent provision that are
outlined in the FERPA, 34 C.F.R. Part 99 Subpart D, section 99.31.
