Beginning in 1998, OU's senior class began a new tradition - senior
class giving. This was the first time that Oglethorpe asked seniors
to establish an undergraduate legacy. Since then, each year seniors
are asked to make a class gift to the Oglethorpe Fund.
The Oglethorpe Fund supports student scholarships, faculty salaries
and enrichment, and keeping our historic campus up-to-date and
beautiful. Gifts from alumni, parents, friends, corporations, and
foundations support programs inside and outside the classroom.
The Class of 2008 can do better!
The goal of the ’08 for OU campaign is teach current students the
importance of giving back and staying involved. It doesn’t stop
after graduation!
- Honor an influential person in your life with a gift to the
Oglethorpe Fund. The names of honorees (as well as your name) will
be listed in the commencement program.
- Continue to establish the senior campaign as a tradition. We
will leave behind a legacy for future graduating classes to be
challenged to live up to our success.
- Celebrate with fellow seniors. The ’08 for OU campaign
committee helps plans events for seniors throughout the year
including the Senior Kickoff on the Quad, the Senior Study Break
and several activities during commencement week!
Let's build class spirit and set an example for alumni and
younger classes. Let's establish the Class of 2008 as a prominent
force propelling OU now and in the future. Let's aim high in 2008!
