Oglethorpe University's Student ID Card, the Petrelpass:
Your Oglethorpe University Student ID card is used to verify that
you are a current student of good standing at the University.
Validation of your ID is based on your registration. Student
IDs give access to:
- Philip Weltner
Library Resources
- Student Meal Plan
- Security access to certain locations on campus
- Flex Dollars for use at either the Emerson dining hall or Cafe
Oglethorpe in Goodman Hall
- Discounts or Free Passes to Sporting Events
- Discounts at
Georgia
Shakespeare
- Access to account information and password resets at the IT
Services Help Desk
- Numerous other student discounts not affiliated with
Oglethorpe University
The Oglethorpe University Student ID card, or PetrelPass,
includes (on the front) your name, photo, date of birth, expiration
date, student type, 10-digit ID number, and barcode.

On the back of the card is the cost of replacement and a magnetic stripe used for
student meal plans, flex dollars, and security access.
Replacements can be obtained from the Student Affairs Office
in the Emerson Student Center with another photo ID displaying your
name and date of birth. If you have not previously received an
ID card and are not on record, a proof of enrollment from the
Registrar's Office is also required. These offices are open
during regular business hours and can be contacted from our
Departmental Phone Directory.
NOTE: Given the amount of access provided by the PetrelPass,
Oglethorpe University suggests treating this card as important as a
credit card. It should also be given the same amount of protection against magnetic fields. |
