University Discipline Procedures
The formal responsibility for the judicial process and
discipline of students in violation of University rules and
regulations rests with the Dean of Students. The administration of
the disciplinary process guarantees to all students a right to
fundamental fairness and presumption of innocence. Student Affairs
staff will undertake the following for students: inform them of the
nature of any charges; explain their rights; give them a fair
opportunity to refute allegations; and examine student premises or
possessions with the owners present, whenever possible. The status
of a student remains unaltered prior to the adjudication of a
disciplinary matter, nor will students' rights to be present on
campus and to attend class be suspended, except for reasons relating
to the physical or emotional safety and well being of the students,
other students, or University personnel.
