Bio coming soon!
  Emily Christian '16

Hello everyone! My name is Emily Christian. I am from Nashville, Tennessee.  In high school I was an event leader for the Mayor’s Youth Council, where I gained a passion for non-profits and community growth. I am currently majoring in Human Behavior and Human Resource Management and minoring in Non-Profit Management. I plan to work in a non-profit that focuses on empowering young girls.

I chose Oglethorpe University because I passionately believed in its mission of creating a learning experience that is not solely based in the classroom, and because of its focus on creating citizens of the world. I love being able to walk around campus and know the people I am passing on my way.

  Joseph Johnson '17

Live long and prosper, friends! My name is Joseph Johnson, and I am from Snellville, GA. I’m a Theatre major here at Oglethorpe University. I came to Oglethorpe for many different reasons, the main reasons being the beautiful campus, accompanied with the lovely neo-Gothic architecture, as well as the excellent theatre program and the small size of the university. Oglethorpe feels like home in a way that nowhere else does! I enjoy watching movies, reading, eating, and above all talking! I participate on campus in many ways, including theatre performances, Coexist Oglethorpe, and Chi Phi Fraternity. Oglethorpe is not only a small campus, but one that is easy to get involved in; here, one person really can make a difference that will change a person forever, and the change is for the better.

  Ali Keeter '15

Hey everyone! My name is Ali Keeter, and I currently work in the Office of Admission as an Operations Assistant. I was born and raised in Dallas, TX, before falling in love with the city of Atlanta and Oglethorpe's diverse campus and theatre department. I am a Communications and Rhetoric Studies major with a minor in Theatre. On campus I am a Senior Resident Assistant, a member of the University Honor Council, a member of the OU Theatre Program and a sister of Sigma Sigma Sigma. My hobbies include watching professional women's soccer, attending all of the Oglethorpe home sporting events, knitting, reading, and spending time with my friends.

  Sam Lyon '15

Hi! I'm Samuel Lyon, a senior Communications and Rhetoric Studies major with a double minor in Spanish and Non-Profit Management. On campus, I am a Senior Resident Assistant, a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society, and a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. I chose Oglethorpe because of the on-campus opportunities, the small class size, its relationship with Atlanta, and the Core program.

After graduation, I plan to travel, using my timeto blog, make new friends, and experience the world. When I come back to the states, I plan on putting my on-campus experience to work by becoming a Residence Life Coordinator or a Coordinator of Student Activities on a campus similar to Oglethorpe. I hope to see you when you come visit campus!

  Paulette Matute '16

Hi! My name is Paolette Matute, and I am the Campus Visit Coordinator. I am from Atlanta, GA. I’m currently a junior studying for a Communications and Rhetoric Studies major with a Visual Merchandising minor. I love having internships and getting hands-on experiences in the work field. On campus, I am a member of the OU Women’s Tennis Team, Student Judicial Board, and Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority. Being part of these organizations has helped me build strong, lifelong friendships and has encouraged me to take leadership roles to better prepare me for the future. My interests outside of school include running, trying new foods around Atlanta, and hanging out with friends. I also can’t live without ice cream and absolutely love Jenni’s Ice Cream in Midtown! I chose OU because of the prime location of the university. The size of the school truly makes it a community, and the hospitality of the faculty and staff is hard to find anywhere else!

  Rachel Roller '17

My name is Rachel Roller. I am from Lawrenceville, Georgia and I am studying Behavioral Science and Human Resource Management, as well as Economics. I really enjoy being involved on campus, and Oglethorpe makes that super easy. I am a member of Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority, OU’s Heifer International Club, Honor Council, and am an Orientation Leader. I chose Oglethorpe because the moment I set foot on this campus I felt that I was part of a family. Oglethorpe is such a close-knit and supported community, and that is my favorite thing about it. Everyone here will know your name and help you out with whatever you need. I hope you guys enjoy visiting us and our quirky, fun family.

Ruwa Romman '15 Hey y’all! My name is Ruwa Romman. I’m originally from Amman, Jordan, but I moved to Georgia when I was eight years old. I am currently studying English and Politics. I chose Oglethorpe because it was the perfect fit for me. The small class sizes and the direct interaction with professors really piqued my interest. What really brought me here, however, was the community. Everyone knows everyone, and the diversity is amazing.

  Shiraz Wright-Hulett '16

Hey, my name is Shiraz Wright-Hulett. I’m from right here in Atlanta, and I’m studying politics. I chose Oglethorpe because of the amazing study abroad opportunities that are offered here. Trips can be as short as two weeks to up to one year, and our partner institutions across the globe help make it affordable for students. I plan to go abroad next year, and pursue graduate school after graduation.
