I am a Texan; born and raised in the deserts of West Texas.  Being surrounded by that much beach and no ocean has cultivated a love of the mountains, tall green trees, and clear mountain lakes.  When I am not traveling the southeast as an admission counselor for Oglethorpe, you can find me outside: trail running, riding my mountain bike, hiking, and spending time with my family.

I like to think of myself as a modern-day Renaissance man. I graduated from Oglethorpe in December of 2009 with a B.A. in English, focusing heavily on Arthurian Literature. I was also a starter on the Stormy Petrel Baseball team. I am constantly pushing myself to learn new things, believing firmly that the only limits of our knowledge and abilities are ones we place on ourselves. This love of learning and pushing my limits was instilled in me from a young age but blossomed into an unquenchable thirst during my years at Oglethorpe. I was constantly asked to think beyond my singular point of view and do all that I could to understand why I believe what I believe.

One of my favorite quotes comes from Michel Legrand and was introduced to me by one of my high school English teachers: “The more I live, the more I learn. The more I learn, the more I realize, the less I know.” Never stop seeking knowledge and understanding; there are infinite possibilities.

Favorite spot on campus: The athlete in me holds a dear love for Hermance Stadium, and the academic in me loves the view of the quad from the library (around 4 a.m. on nights before final papers are due).
Favorite OU tradition: Petrels of Fire. Every Oglethorpe Day, beginning on the first stroke of noon, students attempt to circumnavigate the Academic Quad before the twelfth stroke chimes (less than 30 seconds).
Favorite OU trivia: Ask me where the elephant bones are buried.
Favorite Atlanta restaurant: The Atlanta tradition, The Varsity.
Favorite book: Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis.
Most interesting place I’ve been: Hueco Tanks, El Paso County, Texas.
