Special Status Admission is designed for students who wish to take a
limited number of post-baccalaureate classes at Oglethorpe, or for
non-traditional students who desire to begin college course work
prior to being admitted to a degree-seeking program.
Students may be admitted to Oglethorpe's undergraduate day program
as a special status candidate if they meet one of the following
criteria:
- They are at least 25 years of age and at least five years
removed from their last educational experience.
- They have graduated from another accredited college or
university.
Under the program, students may enroll for a maximum of 16
semester hours. Individuals desiring to enroll for additional
courses must apply as regular, degree-seeking candidates.
To apply for Special Status Admission, students must complete the special status application and submit proof of their last educational
experience or a copy of their college diploma along with a $35 application fee. (Note:
Students interested in the Evening Degree program can find additional admission information here.)
Special status students are not eligible for financial assistance.
