The Actor’s Nightmare
by Christopher Durang
Directed by Lee Knippenberg
George Spelvin is an accountant. Or is he an actor? He can’t
quite remember. And he’s not sure where his pants are. But he does
know that he hasn’t been to a single rehearsal of the production of
Hamlet he’s starring in tonight. Or is it Private Lives?
Christopher Durang’s deranged send-up of the world of the stage is a
farcical comedy of errors complete with mistaken identities,
misdirected affections, and purple prose, not to mention a death
scene to end all death scenes.
