Men Stumble in Greensboro College Classic
With expectations riding high, the Oglethorpe men's golf team
struggled to an uncharacteristic 12th place finish in the Greensboro
College Invitational that concluded yesterday.
Competing in the 15 team field that included no fewer than nine
nationally ranked golf programs, the Petrels struggled on Day One of
the tournament and could never regroup to make a run at the
scoreboard leaders.
The Petrels compiled a two-day total of 606 after shooting a 307 and
a 299 to finish 31 strokes back of tournament winner, Huntingdon
College.
The Petrels will look to bounce back with a strong finish in the
Guilford College Invitational this Sunday.
