Stormy Petrels Lead the Nation in Fairways and Greens

OU Second in short game stats and fourth in Par 5 scoring

 The Oglethorpe men’s golf team is ranked in the top 10 nationally in six categories highlighted by a nation’s best rank in both fairways hit (.691) and greens hit in regulation at (.574). When the Stormy Petrels miss the green they are getting up and down from around the green and bunkers over fifty percent of the time (.530) good for second nationally.

The team is ranked fourth in par five scoring at 4.96, ninth in par 4 scoring at 4.27, and 6th nationally in putts per greens hit in regulation at 1.937.

The Petrels placed 4 individuals in the top 10 in fairways hit en route to their team best percentage of .691. Taylor Urbanski (second nationally at .732) . Lead the team for the second consecutive year. As a freshmen last season Urbanski led the nation in fairways hit at .780. Freshmen, Joseph Lyda (third nationally at .723) and Joshua Kinsey (fourth nationally at .698) give the Stormy Petrels three of the top five. Senior Joe Green (ninth at .634) rounds out the top ten. Green is also second nationally in greens hit in regulation at .694 and fifth in par four scoring at 4.07.

Danny Swanick is fourth nationally in total short game. He gets the ball up and down .630 of the time.
