RE: Medical Services Available to Visiting Varsity Teams
On behalf of Oglethorpe University, I would like to welcome you to Atlanta, GA. We are excited to be hosting you and your team, and would like to make your stay here enjoyable.
The Sports Medicine Clinic is located in the Steve Schmidt Recreation Center, which is connected to the Dorough Fieldhouse, and adjacent to the Baseball Field. A certified athletic trainer will be present at all traditional season competitions, and will be available in the athletic training room two hours prior to the competition.
The Oglethorpe University athletic training staff will provide:
- Pre-game taping (please send necessary supplies)
- Medical assistance for acute injuries/illness
- Emergent care
- Modality treatments to include: moist heat, ultrasound and e-stim provided a letter detailing specific protocols is sent to our attention at least 24 hours prior to the competition.
