Green Earns Player of the Year Honors
Urbanski, Swanick, Kinsey, and Lyda all earn All State Honors
Senior Joe Green led all five team members from Oglethorpe on the
2006 All-State Team. Green edged out sophomore Taylor Urbanski for
Player of the Year. Junior Danny Swanick and Urbanski made the team
for the second consecutive year along with Emory senior Mike Lebow.
Three freshmen made the seven member team for
the first time. Emory’s Jeremy Evans and Oglethorpe’s Josh Kinsey
and Joseph Lyda all earned All State honors their first year.
Green is the third player in Georgia Cup
history to earn a spot on the All State Team all four years. He
joins Oglethorpe Alumni Trent Erb 2001-2004 and Corey Garner
2002-2005 as the only four time recipients.
Green becomes the fourth Oglethorpe University
“Player of the Year” in the nine year history of the Georgia Cup.
He follows Tolliver Williams in 1998 and Trent Erb in 2003 and again
in 2004.
