Men's Golf Ranked #1 Division III Program in Nation by Golf Digest
The Oglethorpe University men's golf team has been classified as the number one Division III program in the nation by Golf Digest magazine. Combining factors like academics, player growth and development, team scoring average, coach and facilities, Oglethorpe finished ahead of many Division I programs from power conferences like the ACC and SEC.
Including all NCAA divisions, Oglethorpe checked in at number 79 overall for the nation and was 7 spots higher than the next Divsion III team, Methodist.
"The rankings are a culmination of a lot of hard work by both our players and the university," said head men's golf coach, Jim Owen. "It certainly is nice to be regarded so highly by a respected publication like Golf Digest."
