Dale, Gates Invited to 2008 D-III Golf Championship
Oglethorpe University golfers Katie Dale and Julia Gates learned late Monday evening that they had been selected to compete at the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship hosted by Wartburg College.
Dale, a sophomore from Peachtree City, will be making her first trip to the NCAA's biggest stage for women's golf and will enter riding on the momentum of three consecutive top-ten finishes in fields crowded with talent.
Gates, a senior from Kennesaw, will be making her second consecutive trip to the Division III Golf Championships and will look to improve on her impressive tied for 18th place performance one year ago. Gates enters the tournament on a hot streak, having recorded consecutive top-five finishes including a win at the Rhodes College Spring Invitational in April.
The Championship will take place May 13-16 at the Centennial Oaks Golf Course in Waverly, Iowa.
