Oglethorpe will host the 2005 Men's Division III NCAA National Golf Championship
on the "El Campeon" course at The Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, May 9-12

In partnership with the Central Florida Sports Commission (www.orlandosports.org) Oglethorpe University is proud to host the 2005 NCAA Men's Division III Championship.  The Commission hosts approximately 50 events a year all over the central Florida area.  In a joint effort with Oglethorpe the Central Florida Sports Commission submitted a bid for the 2005 event and were selected by the NCAA in July of 2003.

The "El Campeon" course or "The Champion" was designed in 1926 by Charles E. Clarke of Troon, Scotland.  The course plays 6923 yards to a par of 72.  El Campeon's signature hole is the 17th, a 538 par 5 nicknamed the "Devil's Delight."  View a Map of the Course and of The Mission Inn, including the Restaurant.
