Women Break into Top 25

Fall Preview tournament finish springboards team to 21st in rankings

The Oglethorpe women’s golf team was ranked 21st nationally in the November 7th Golfstat rankings at the end of the fall season. The women’s 5th place finish at the NCAA Fall Preview in late October moved the team up ten places from number 31st to 21st. The women’s team was ranked 44th to begin the fall season in mid September.

Two tournament wins to start the fall season followed by a sixth place finish at Berry College/ Stonebridge Invitational and a fifth place finish at the NCAA Division III fall preview at the Mission Inn Resort in late October moved the team up nearly 25 places in the fall.

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) boasts two top ten teams in the November Golfstat rankings. Other teams ranked in the top 40 include DePauw University in 3rd, Southwestern,TX in 6th, Oglethorpe University in 21st, Rhodes College in 27th, and Trinity University in 35th.
