Outlook
The men's soccer team is expected to improve on its performance
from last season despite graduating talented defenders and
captains Jason Amos and Nate Harrison, along with
midfielder Jaime Fisher. One reason for expected
improvement is the return of the majority of the team and the
addition of several talented recruits.
Returning to lead the offense is All-Region player and
Oglethorpe's leading goal scorer, senior Clint Harrison.
Harrison should see his numbers increase from last year.
Supporting Harrison are junior forwards David Crabbe,
Matt Patrick and senior midfielder Mark Olas.
After losing three goalkeepers to injuries last season, the return
of healthy senior goalkeepers Chris Fort and transfer
goalkeeper Derek Sheets (St. Thomas, FL) should beef up the
defense in 2000. Also helping to build a stronger defense
are transfer defender Garrett Staines (Young Harris, GA)
and standout defenders, senior Jason Solomon and sophomore
Brett Wilkinson.
