Hiring an Oglethorpe student for an internship or job means that you
will be getting an individual who brings academic strengths rooted
in a balanced liberal arts tradition. There are several ways you
can let Oglethorpe students know about opportunities within your
organization.
- Employment Opportunities
- Internships
- Information Sessions
- On-Campus Recruiting
Employment Opportunities
Career Services invites you to use
eRecruiting
powered by Experience list your employment opportunities. If you do
not already have an existing account with Experience then please
click on Create an Account link and follow the instructions to set
up your account. For employers with existing Experience accounts you
must request access to post to Oglethorpe University's site by
logging onto the system with your username and password that you
created and click on the Link Your Schools, select Oglethorpe
University from the list of schools and then click Request Access.
Once we have received your request we will then grant you access to
post jobs and internships for our students to view.
You can also list an employment opportunity by
email or fax
(404.504.3449), please include a job description including the
following information: organization name and brief description, job
title, wage, days/hours, location, qualifications, job description,
and how to apply.
Internships
Internships offer students an excellent opportunity to gain
hands-on experience in their area of interest. For you, the
employer, internships enables you to get assistance on projects,
preview a potential employee, tap into creative minds and provide
valuable learning opportunities for students.
Oglethorpe provides internship position listings as a resource
for students. Our staff cannot recruit and select a student for your
position. We will, however, make students and faculty aware of
openings and publicize internship listings.
To post an internship opportunity, please
email or fax
(404.504.3449) a job description including the following
information: organization name and brief description, job title,
wage, days/hours, location, qualifications, job description, and how
to apply.
Not all work experiences qualify as internships. An internship must
include learning objectives for the student and must not be
primarily clerical in nature. For more information on what
constitutes an internship please refer to our Site Supervisor
Expectations form or call us at 404.364.8865.
Information Sessions
Hosting an information table is an excellent way to generate student
interest in your organization. Career Services will be happy to help
you coordinate an information table outside a heavily traveled area or can assist you in creating a more formal
workshop.
On-Campus Interviews
Companies are invited to conduct preliminary interviews for interns
or full-time hires on Oglethorpe's campus. Using
eRecruiting,
Career Services will schedule your visit, post your job description,
collect and email resumes, and manage the interview schedule. The
information is viewable by employers and students throughout the
process. Call Career Services to schedule an interview date.
