OFFICE OF EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING PHILOSOPHY AND MISSION:

The mission of the Office of Experiential Learning is to help students integrate their liberal arts education into their professional career identity.     Specifically, we assist current students and alumni with enhancing their self awareness;   exploring career options and how to obtain career-related experiences through internships.    We educate students and alumni about career planning, a life-long process of self-evaluation and decision-making.

Our approach to career planning is developmental and strength based.    Because careers develop over the entire life span, we help students prepare for the ever changing world of work at the same time addressing their individual needs.     Our career development time line by year (see section under quick links to the left ) is the framework for the work we do with students.    Additionally, it is our belief that all work is important and we respect all professions.   We aim to help students find meaning in their careers by capitalizing on their special talents and strengths.

Our goal is to provide students the resources to help them manage their own development, enabling students answer three main questions:

WHO AM I?                                         WHAT ARE MY GIFTS?                  WHAT IS MY PLACE IN THE WORLD?

Services we offer include:
