Demolition on Oglethorpe University Campus Makes Room for New
Dorms Oglethorpe University’s silent faculty will gain two new
members in the coming months. In July 2004, crews demolished Trustee
and Dempsey Halls on the university’s campus to make way for two new
residence halls, designed to meet the needs of today’s students. The
first of these new residence halls is scheduled to be complete in
fall 2005.
A
groundbreaking ceremony will take place on the site September 8 at 11:30
a.m. The event will be student-centered and will be attended by the
residence hall architects and builders, DeKalb County dignitaries
and university faculty and staff.
