SERVICE,
LEADERSHIP, AND FUN!
CIRCLE
K INTERNATIONAL
Circle K is the premiere service and leadership
development organization for college students.
With over 500 chapters in 10 countries, more than 11,000 students
serve their campuses and communities every day.
Sponsored
by Kiwanis International, Circle K began
in 1947 at Carthage College in Carthage, IL. The Circle K movement rapidly spread across North America.
This loose affiliation of clubs became Circle K International on
October 23, 1955 when the Emory University chapter received Charter #1.
The Georgia District was founded on October 13, 1959 with 23 clubs.
OGLETHORPE
UNIVERSITY CIRCLE K
Oglethorpe University Circle K (OUCKI) was first chartered in 1954. During
the past 45 years, the club has appeared and disappeared four times. The
fourth revival of the club was in the fall of 1998 after a 10 year hiatus.
In the first year of its new existence, 20 members dedicated over 800 hours
to the club.
Membership
is open year round to any student attending Oglethorpe University.
Contact an officer to receive a membership form.
THE KIWANIS CLUB OF
BUCKHEAD
The
Kiwanis Club of Buckhead is the sponsoring Kiwanis Club for Oglethorpe
University. Circle K participates in several service events with Kiwanis
such as volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House and fundraisers at the
Georgia Dome. And of course Circle K’ers are always welcome at their
weekly luncheons.
