To register your internship for academic credit, you must complete an application packet by the deadlines outlined below for the corresponding semester.

FOR STUDENTS:
Step One: Understand the Internship Procedures
Meet
with the Director of Experiential Learning.. Ideally, this will be at least
the semester before your internship The career counselor will explain all
the steps necessary in the application process. Call Career Services at
404.364.8865 to make an appointment.
Step Two: Find an Internship Site & Site
Supervisor
Check out the internship listing resources in the Career
Services office. Oglethorpe has over 200 internship listings within the Atlanta
area. Most of these opportunities can be found on-line through CareerConnect.
Step Three: Complete Internship Forms for your Application.
These forms below are included in hard copy and they should be taken to the meeting and discussed with your faculty supervisor prior to their sign-off. Completed forms should be submitted in person to the Director of Experiential Learning on or before the deadline listed above.
Internship Registration Form
To be completed and turned into the Director of Experiential Learning before the final semester deadline. **Hint: The course number and title can be found in the Bulletin under the corresponding subject. It is listed as a class (ex. CRS 401 Internship in Communications)
Internship Appeal Form (to be completed only if seeking more than 4 credit hours)
Internship Learning Agreement
The learning agreement has an academic writing assignment associated with the internship. For each credit hour, you will have to write five pages. You must write out the number of pages for each writing assignment (ex: 6 pages reflective journal and 14 pages on social media in the twenty first century for a 4 credit internship).
Step Four: Complete Part II of Application.

Once completed, an e-mail will be sent to your internship site supervisor to complete an additional form with details about the internship site, your duties, and their expectations of you as an intern with their organization.
