Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Awareness

This Halloween students and staff members worked on a campaign to make the Oglethorpe community aware of the dangers of drinking and driving. With the help of the DeKalb County Police Department and some talented students we decorated campus with a message "Don't let Halloween become a Nightmare, don't drink and drive"

Please view the photos below

SMASH (Students Motivating Action and Support of Health) our Peer Education group created a grave yard on campus near the academic building.

Students participated in a window painting contest:

Left: "Puking Pumpkin" by Jayme Danielson of the Athlete Alcohol Task Force
Right: One of our tied 1st place windows "Nightmare before Halloween" by Beau Berthelot of Chi Phi

Above: "Recipe for Disaster" by Ally Hayden and Katie Siess, Center for Civic Engagement Scholars

Above: "Chocolate Wasted" by Keturah Thomas and Erica Blake

Above: "Life Has No Reset Button" by Julia Higgins, tied for 1st place

Below: DeKalb County Police, Brown & Brown Towing and Chi Phi helped
make the message sink in with a wrecked car at Greek Row.

Come back soon for more photos from other Alcohol and Drug Abuse and Prevention Events.
