The required Immunization, Tuberculosis and Medical History Forms are due 3 weeks prior to beginning of classes. Please read and follow the directions on the forms and submit it as soon as possible.

It is the policy of the Oglethorpe University Health Services to comply with the mandatory immunization program established by the Board of Regents of the University Systems of Georgia. These requirements include documented proof of immunity to measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), varicella (chicken pox), tetanus and hepatitis B, prior to registration at any college or university within the University System. For your convenience, Health Services will schedule vaccination clinics throughout the fall and spring semesters in collaboration with the Dekalb County Board of Health to assist students to begin or complete their vaccination requirements.

If you have misplaced some of your vaccination records, you can request "blood titers" drawn from your physician to check for immunity. This is especially true for MMR, varicella (chicken pox) and hepatitis B. Documentation of lab results must be attached to the Certificate of Immunization form. If the results are "no immunity," you will have to begin the vaccination series.

Meningitis vaccinations are available at most Pediatrician offices, private health insurance may cover this vaccination. Currently this vaccination is over $110.00 (subject to change) at county health departments.
