If you are unable to attend the Graduation Fair, you can order your cap and gown online until March 30.
A graduation packet with a cap, gown, hood and tassel for undergraduates is $50.70 plus tax; for graduate MAT candidates it is $56.46 plus tax. The bookstore will begin distribution of the regalia during the week of May 4.
If you are unable to meet the March 30 deadline please contact Herff Jones customer service at 1-800-837-4235, for additional details regarding ordering & delivery. Please note late ordering will incur a late fee.
Please try your gown on several days before graduation so any problems with size and necessary exchanges are not a last-minute emergency.
Wednesday, May 13: Carillon Ceremony
5:00 - 6:30 p.m., Academic Quadrangle
The Carillon Ceremony honors the graduating seniors with an opportunity to enter a "secret door" in Lupton Hall and climb to the top of the Lupton Bell Tower. Facilitated by the Alumni Board, seniors may sign a historical carillon registry book and have their picture taken ringing a bell. No skirts and please wear tennis shoes. Appetizers will be provided, and there will be a champagne toast to follow the Carillon Ceremony. RSVP required by May 11.
Thursday, May 14: Commencement Rehearsal
6:30 - 7:45 p.m., Conant Performing Arts Center
Student attendance is imperative. If you are unable to attend, please contact the Registrar's Office at 404-364-8418. Essential graduation materials will be distributed and class photographs will be taken promptly at 6:30 p.m. Dress is business attire - men in coat and tie and women in dress, skirt or dressy slacks. Seven rain tickets will be issued to each graduation candidate, to be used for guests in the case of inclement weather and an inside commencement ceremony.
Friday, May 15: President's Reception
4:30 - 6:30 p.m., Turner Lynch Campus Center
Sponsored by President Schall, his wife, Betty Londergan and the Alumni Association, this wine and cheese reception honors graduation candidates, their families, and guests. Formal invitations will be sent to the graduates' families. Oglethorpe faculty and staff are also invited. This is a great opportunity for farewells and photos. RSVP required by May 11.
Friday, May 15: Golden Petrels Dinner
6:30 - 8:30 PM, Turner Lynch Campus Center
By invitation only to Golden Petrels members
Saturday, May 16: Commencement
8:00 a.m. (report); 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. (ceremony), Academic Quadrangle
Graduation candidates in regalia must report by 8 a.m. to Lupton Auditorium. There will be a "Help Station" to assist with regalia. After the ceremony at about 11 a.m., faculty and staff will be available to greet the graduates and their families. Please RSVP by May 11. Tickets are not required for guests, unless it rains. Rain tickets will be distributed to participants at the commencement rehearsal.

* If rain is predicted for commencement day, a limited number of rain tickets will be distributed directly to graduates during Thursday's rehearsal. Indoor seating is limited, so it is very important to attend the rehearsal and collect your rain tickets if you are expecting guests.
