Alan Loehle

Alan Loehle received his MFA in Painting from the University of Arizona in 1979 and his BFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of Georgia in 1975.

He has been the recipient of numerous awards and grants for his work, including a Visual Artists Fellowship for Painting from the National Endowment for the Arts, grants for painting from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, the Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation and others. His work has been shown widely throughout the United States in solo, group and museum exhibitions. His drawings and paintings have been reviewed and reproduced in books, newspapers and magazines throughout the country, most recently in Art Papers, New American Paintings, Manhattan Arts Magazine and The Paris Review.

He is represented by Marcia Wood Gallery in Atlanta and has work in public and private collections throughout the United States. Alan has over twenty years of experience teaching drawing and painting. He has taught at the New York Academy of Art, Georgia State University, The Atlanta College of Art, and is presently Associate Professor of Art at Oglethorpe University.
