F examThe attached doc lists the major topics to be covered on our final exam. This list is intended as an aid, and is not meant to be all-inclusive. Sub-topics directly related to the main topics contained in the list may also appear on the exam, as these are impossible and undesirable to separate from an integrated course.

The topics/rxns in BOLD font are mechanisms you are responsible for.

Some of you may want to consider trying to purchase (~ $17) the ACS Study Guide for the f exam in organic. The Georgia State bookstore probably carries extra copies, as well as possible G tech.

If you do plan on using the Guide, use it as a final and not primary study aid. Also realize that the Guide is for a complete TWO-semester course, so many topics will not apply. The topics that do apply are the following, but only for the limited classes of organic compounds/functional groups we studied:

Nomenclature
Structure, Hybridization, Resonance
Acids and Bases
Stereoisomerism
Nucleophilic Substitution and Eliminations
Electrophilic Additions
Free Radicals (to some extent)
