Oglethorpe University to Host Conference on
Religion and America
ATLANTA—Oglethorpe University, Berry College
and the Intercollegiate Studies Institute will host the "Religion
and the American Experiment" conference March 5, 1998 in the Talmage
Room of the Emerson Student Center on the campus of Oglethorpe
University. The conference will begin at 9:45 a.m. and will conclude
after the final lecture at 7 p.m.
Featured speakers include Professor Gerard V.
Bradley of University of Notre Dame, Dr. James Guth of Furman
University, Dr. Stanley Hauerwas of Duke University and Dr. Robert
Kraynak of Colgate University. Lecture topics include "The
Compatibility of Christian Faith and Democratic Government," "The
New Religious Order in American Politics," "Why Christianity Will
Never Work in America" and "Secularism and Subjectivism in American
Constitutional Law."
