Format: Six former U.S. Secretaries of Defense will convene to
discuss 21st century global security threats and the role of the
United States in addressing them.
Participants: Secretaries Melvin Laird, James Schlesinger, Harold
Brown, Frank Carlucci, Caspar Weinberger, William Cohen, and
moderator Judy Woodruff of CNN.
The Southern Center for International Studies, a nonprofit,
nonpartisan, educational institution based in Atlanta, Georgia since
1962, is an independent center for thought and opinion on
international affairs and U.S. foreign policy. The Center seeks to
inform. It does not take political positions nor seeks to influence
policy.
Oglethorpe University is a highly selective, independent,
co-educational liberal arts institution that enrolls approximately
1,200 students each year. Following graduation, Oglethorpe students
often go on to the best graduate schools in the nation. Recent
