Martin Wins "Ambassador of the Year"
ATLANTA – Jillian Martin, a rising sophomore at Oglethorpe
University, recently won the “Ambassador of the Year” at
Oglethorpe’s Honors and Awards Convocation. Jillian, a graduate of
East Coweta High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John
Martin, Jr. Jillian is a biology major and Spanish minor.
Student ambassadors are vital members of Oglethorpe University’s
Enrollment Management Team. Selected by the admission office, these
student volunteers assist with special events, host overnight
guests, write prospective students and most importantly, provide
campus tours.
“Jillian was selected as the Student Ambassador of the Year
because she distinguished herself as an exemplary member of a group
that has made incredible contributions to the University this year,”
said Cynthia Sexton, associate director of admission. “Her
commitment to providing excellent service along with her dynamic
personality and dedication to the University made Jill an easy
choice. We are very proud of Jill and all of her contributions to
the organization and to the University.”
Providing a superior education in the liberal arts, Oglethorpe
University is located in the heart of Brookhaven, just north of
Buckhead. The university is a highly selective, independent,
co-educational institution that enrolls approximately 1,200 students
each year. Oglethorpe’s students represent the best of their
