Jovita Moore of WSB-TV Participates at
Oglethorpe University's Summit on Lynwood Park
****Photo/Video Opportunity****
What: Lynwood Park Summit
When: April 8, 2004, 11:45 a.m.
Where: Talmage Room, Emerson
Student Center, Oglethorpe University
Why: The Lynwood Park Summit sponsored by the Rich Foundation
Urban Leadership Program (RFULP) at Oglethorpe University will bring
a variety of university constituencies together with the leaders of
Lynwood Park, a historically African-American community just outside
the gates of the university. This luncheon summit will demonstrate
what Oglethorpe students have been doing in Lynwood Park through the
RFULP, through the volunteer efforts of Alpha Phi Omega
(Oglethorpe’s coeducational service fraternity), and through our
federally-funded work/study program. In addition, the university’s
guests from Lynwood Park will provide an overview of that community
and its needs in hopes to show the Oglethorpe community even more
that can be done.
Photo/Video Opportunities:
Lynwood Park leaders
uniting with the Oglethorpe University community to address ways in
which the university and its students can become more active with
this historically African-American community.
