Baseball, Golf, Tennis and Track & Field Athletes at Oglethorpe
Shine in Division III Athletics
ATLANTA Over a dozen student-athletes from
Oglethorpe were recently honored for their individual performances
in baseball, golf, tennis, and track and field. Performances were
evaluated over the past season and during the Southern Collegiate
Athletic Conference (SCAC) Spring Sports Festival which was hosted
by Oglethorpe University in April of this year.
Spring sports selections for the All-SCAC Teams are
determined by the top coaches in each respective sport from member
institutions. The SCAC consists of ten of the nations highly
selective, small universities. It encompasses seven states and
includes the following schools: Centre College, Danville, Ky.;
DePauw University, Greencastle, Ind.; Hendrix College, Conway, Ark.;
Millsaps College, Jackson, Miss.; Rhodes College, Memphis, Tenn.;
Rose-Hulman Institute, Terre Haute, Ind.; Southwestern University,
Georgetown, Texas; Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas; Sewanee:
The University of the South, Tenn.; and Oglethorpe University,
Atlanta, Ga.
The SCAC was formed to provide an association
through which member institutions may encourage organized
