Back to School for Oglethorpe University
Oglethorpe Welcomes Students for 2004-2005 Year
ATLANTA – Back-to-school season has officially
arrived in Atlanta, and Oglethorpe University is set to welcome its
new students this Saturday, Aug. 21. Returning students will arrive
on Sunday, and classes begin Aug. 24.
Oglethorpe’s Office of Student Affairs is busy
organizing activities – such as dessert with the president and a
comedy fest and activities fair – professors are finalizing syllabi
for classes, and sororities and fraternities are practicing their
recruitment techniques.
"I can’t wait to see the activity of a full
campus after spending a summer in preparation with student leaders,"
said Candace Maddox, student activities coordinator. "I expect to
have a lively year of programs intended to both entertain and to
educate."
