Brahms, Berlin and Bateson Highlight Spring Concert

What: Oglethorpe University Singers and University Chorale to Present Spring Concert
When: Friday, April 15, 8 p.m.
Where: Conant Performing Arts Center
Cost: Admission is free

Who: The Oglethorpe University Singers and University Chorale, conducted by Dr. W. Irwin Ray, Jr., director of musical activities at Oglethorpe, and accompanied by artist-in-residence David Buice, pianist.

Featuring: The Singers will present motets and choruses by Johannes Brahms, W. A. Mozart, and Felix Mendelssohn; madrigals by Paolo Bellasio, Thomas Bateson, and Thomas Morley; folk songs from England and Canada; Johann Schein’s chorale concerto on “Christ Lag in Todesbanden;” selections by Edwin Robertson, Lloyd Pfautsch, Irving Berlin, and George Gershwin. Winners of the student ensemble performance contest will also perform.


The Oglethorpe University Singers will perform April 15, 2005 at 8 p.m. in
the Conant Performing Arts Center. Admission is free.
