ATLANTA - Kelly Robinson has been named Executive Director
of Marketing and Public Relations at Oglethorpe University, a
highly selective liberal arts college. Robinson joins Oglethorpe
with 15 years of advertising and public relations experience.
Most recently she was Director of Communications at Atlanta
College of Art, where she implemented a new brand identity for
the institution.
“We are extremely pleased to have someone
with Kelly’s experience to lead our marketing and public
relations efforts,” said Peter Rooney, Vice President for
Development and Alumni Relations. “With her combination of
corporate knowledge, higher education experience from Atlanta
College of Art and her deep ties in the Atlanta community, I am
confident she will help successfully raise Oglethorpe’s name
recognition both locally and nationally.”
Robinson, an Atlanta native, is a graduate of The University
of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee, and is a member of the Council
for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). She is a
member of Leadership Tampa, Class of 2000, and has served on the
Atlanta Celebrates Photography committee for four years.
Previously, Robinson worked with Hughes Advertising in Atlanta
and Fahlgren Advertising in Tampa, managing a client list that
includes the Atlanta History Center, the City of Charleston’s
Department of Transportation, Palmas del Mar Resort in Puerto
Rico, Premier Cruise Line and ValuJet Airlines. Robinson
replaces Rebecca Whicker, who had been with Oglethorpe for four
years.

Oglethorpe University, founded in 1835, has a total
enrollment of 1,052. Its students represent 36 states and 21
countries. The average SAT score is 1200, and 43 percent of the
freshmen graduated in the top ten percent of their high school
classes. Oglethorpe University plays in the NCAA Division III
Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Oglethorpe University
is a member of the Annapolis Group, an organization of America’s
most selective 100 liberal arts institutions, the only such
institution in Georgia that is co-educational.
