ATLANTA - Jimmy Ebersole has been named the director of
special events at Oglethorpe University. Oglethorpe is Atlanta’s
only highly selective coeducational liberal arts college.
Ebersole comes to Oglethorpe from the University of Florida,
where he was responsible for all presidential and board of
trustee events. He will oversee conference and event rentals as
well as campus events.
“We are very fortunate to have Jimmy joining our team,” said
Kelly Robinson, executive director of marketing and public
relations, who oversees the special events office. “With his
extensive background in higher education, Jimmy has a wealth of
experience from which to pull while planning events on the
beautiful Oglethorpe campus.”
Ebersole is glad to be returning to Atlanta, where he
formerly worked for the Georgia Institute of Technology as
assistant director of alumni events. “After five years, I am
glad to be able to return to Atlanta to work at one of our
country’s best liberal arts universities,” said Ebersole. “This
university and city have so much going on that Oglethorpe will
clearly continue its path of greatness. I am extremely happy to
be part of the Oglethorpe family and know this is the place for
me to make a difference.”
Oglethorpe University, founded in 1835, is a member of the
Annapolis Group, an organization of America’s 100 most selective
liberal arts institutions, and the Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference, a ten-member association dedicated to high academic
standards. Oglethorpe is accredited by the Southern Association
of Colleges and Schools.
