ATLANTA --
Members of Oglethorpe University’s Alpha Nu chapter of the Delta
Sigma Phi Fraternity announce their eighth annual fall
philanthropy event, Seesaw for Cancer. A 72-hour seesaw-athon,
this event raises money for the AFLAC Cancer Center at
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and will be held October 24
through 27 on Oglethorpe University’s Academic Quad (4484
Peachtree Rd NE).
Members of the fraternity will ride a homemade seesaw
continuously for three days and three nights. The seesawers will
stay busy by carving pumpkins, doing assignments on their
laptops, watching television and hanging out with supporters.
“In an effort to stay local, we donate the proceeds to the
Children’s Hospital of Atlanta. This decision was made in order
to give the event a local impact and have a more specific group
benefit from the donations,” said Oglethorpe sophomore and Delta
Sigma Phi philanthropy chair Ryan Fulgham.
The fundraising goal for Seesaw for Cancer is $1,500. If you
are interested in making a contribution, please contact Ryan
Fulgham at r.fulgham@oglethorpe.edu.
