Absurdist Comedy Comes to Oglethorpe
ATLANTA – The Oglethorpe University Theatre Department presents the popular comedy The Bald Soprano March 1 through 3 in the Conant Performing Arts Center at 8:00 p.m. One of the most performed plays in France The Bald Soprano was written by well-known absurdist playwright Eugène Ionesco.
This hilarious play takes us into a middle-class English interior where the randomly striking English clock is not the only thing that is cuckoo. Mr. and Mrs. Smith, comfortably ensconced in their English armchairs near an English fire, seem oblivious to the sounding alarms and the widening cracks in reason and probability, as do their guests.
