Female Coach Making a Difference at Oglethorpe

ATLANTA – Liz Campbell is entering her fifth year as assistant coach with the Oglethorpe University women’s basketball team. Along with her coaching responsibilities Coach Campbell also serves as Oglethorpe’s Assistant Athletic Director, Senior Women's Administrator and advisor to the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

The Oglethorpe University women’s basketball team headed back to the Division III NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year this past season. After earning an invite for the first time in school history in 2006, the Stormy Petrels compiled a record of 21-7 this year to garner the illustrious bid. During their outstanding season, the Oglethorpe women have also broken several school records including most wins ever in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (11) and most wins total for a season (21).

Campbell graduated cum laude from Oglethorpe with a bachelor’s degree in history and a teaching certificate. In 2004 Liz completed her master’s degree in Sports Administration at Georgia State University.
