Top Basketball Coaches’ Clinic at Oglethorpe University

ATLANTA – This weekend Georgia high school basketball coaches will find some of the nation’s top university coaches teaching their trade in Dorough Field House at Oglethorpe University. Nike Championship Basketball Clinics, which runs the largest coaching clinics in the nation, will hold their only clinic in the Southeast at Oglethorpe University (4484 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta 30319) starting Friday, September 21 at 5:45 p.m..

The line-up of coaches includes: Tubby Smith, University of Minnesota; Bobby Cremins, College of Charleston; Jim Calhoun, University of Connecticut; Jim Boeheim, University of Syracuse; Hall of Famer Hubie Brown; Seth Greenberg, Virginia Tech; and many more.

The Nike Championship Basketball Clinic comes to Atlanta every other year, and in the past has been held at the Atlanta Airport Marriot. In the past, the coaches have used a projection screen to teach plays. Now with the use of Oglethorpe University’s newly renovated athletics complex, these award-winning coaches can demonstrate plays using on-court drills. The coaches will be putting players from NAIA Berry College through various offensive and defensive concepts and drills (NCAA rules prohibited the use of Oglethorpe players).
