Georgia Philharmonic Visits Brookhaven

ATLANTA – Oglethorpe University presents The Georgia Philharmonic on Saturday, April 28 at 8:00 p.m. in the Conant Performing Arts Center. The mission of this full symphonic orchestra is to enhance the cultural life in the northern suburban arc of metropolitan Atlanta. This will be their premier concert at Oglethorpe University.

Conducted by Philip Rice, the program includes: Weber’s Overture from “Der Freischutz,” Khachaturian’s Spartacus Suite No. 2, Nino Rota’s Ballabili per Film “Il Gattopardo” and Dances from “The Leopard” and Brahms’ Double Concerto for Violin, Cello and Orchestra in A Minor, Op. 102. Guest artists for the Brahms are the critically acclaimed husband-wife duo of Stefan Milenkovich, violin and Ari Aznovoorian, violoncello.
