Well-Known Children's Book Comes to Life
ATLANTA – Children will be in awe watching “Wemmickville” come to life in this adaptation of the book You are Special February 8 at 7:30 p.m. and February 10 at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at Oglethorpe University’s Conant Performing Arts Center.
The wooden townspeople award stars and dots for good and bad deeds. The pretty and talented ones always get stars. Others, though, who can do little or who have chipped paint, get ugly dots. One little girl, Puchinella, only receives dots. In this heartwarming children’s tale from best-selling author Max Lucado, Eli the woodcarver helps Puchinella understand how special she is – no matter what other Wemmicks may think. So with some help from her friends, Puchinella finds out what really matters – it’s what’s inside that counts!
Written by Max Lucado and adapted for stage and directed by Amy Lowe ’07. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for school age children. For information call 404.504.1074.
