Poetry on Oglethorpe’s Stage

ATLANTA – Oglethorpe University’s theater department presents 4.48 Psychosis on May 2 and 3 at 8:00 p.m. in the Conant Performing Arts Center. In a highly visual, movement-oriented piece with original soundscape, Sarah Kane’s 4.48 Psychosis is poetry on stage.

The structure of the play describes the mind of a young woman which is at once discovering deep, eternal truths and unraveling. The text creates a story that could be a journey through one person's mind or an interaction between a doctor and patient. Kane's words emulate the way in which a victim of depression becomes trapped, repeating destitute thoughts and agonized feelings.

Directed by Jhana Grant ’08. Mature Content. Tickets: $5 general admission, free to the OU community with ID. For more information please call 404-504-1074.
