Denise L. Peroune Named Executive Director of Marketing and Public Relations
ATLANTA–Denise L. Peroune has been named executive director of marketing and public relations at Oglethorpe University, a highly selective liberal arts college. Peroune joins Oglethorpe with 12 years of marketing and communications experience.
“We are extremely pleased to have someone with Denise’s experience lead our marketing and public relations efforts,” said Peter Rooney, vice president for development and alumni relations. “With her combination of strategic knowledge and higher education experience from Barry University, in Miami Shores, Florida, I am confident she will help successfully raise Oglethorpe’s name recognition both locally and nationally.”
Peroune holds a Ph.D. from Barry University, a graduate diploma in international relations from the Institute of International Relations and an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago. She has been involved in private consulting with higher education institutions and K-12 institutions as they strive to raise their visibility in the education marketplace and communicate more effectively with current and prospective students, donors, faculty and staff and other stakeholders. Peroune replaces Kelly Robinson, who had been with Oglethorpe for three years.
