MLK Lecture at Oglethorpe
ATLANTA – On Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Oglethorpe University and Hands On Atlanta present Dr. Kendra A. King, Associate Professor of Politics, who will share a lecture and lead a discussion on the transformative power of paying it forward. Voices of Inspiration, Oglethorpe’s gospel choir will also perform.
The lecture, Dr. Martin L. King, Jr., Hands On and the Power of Rediscovering Lost Values, will examine the six steps and principles of nonviolence, agape love and benevolence as modern day change agents. This lecture is part of the Hands On Atlanta 15th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Summit held January 14 through 21.
Dr. Kendra King is an associate professor of politics at Oglethorpe University and is the director of the Rich Foundation Urban Leadership Program. Dr. King is the author of African-American Politics (Polity Press) and a chapter entitled "Let's Get It Started" in the book Service-Learning With Government Partners (Jossey-Bass Publishing Company).
